The best time to view the aurora on our webcam is 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Alaska Time, August 20 through April 30th.The aurora has the highest chance of activity at midnight when the sun is pushing the auroral oval towards us.The aurora webcam will not be operational from May 1 through August 20th as our long spring and summer days limit our chances to see the aurora. They dont call us The Land of the Midnight Sun for nothing. The daytime cam will be pointed at Mt. McKinley, the largest mountain in North America which is 20,300 feet above sea level and will offer spectacular views during our long summer daytime hours.
